Education

The City of Piešťany became an Education Office and this change was introduced by a National Assembly Law in 2004. Two employees from the Town Hall Education Department secure the City of Piešťany activities in the education area as well as in the matters of expert activities and advice in education and upbringing. The third employee from this department secures the execution of municipal activities.

General information

  • offers expert and advisory service for the schools and school institutions like kindergartens, primary schools, school dinning rooms, school clubs, Centre for Free Time, Primary Arts School
  • prepares the documents for schools and school institutions establishment or their abolishment
  • executes state administration on the first level in matters of neglecting the care for obligatory school attendance by a pupil and makes decision on the second level in matters concerning the first level cases in which the school director made a decision
  • checks and controls if the general legal biding regulations in area of education and upbringing
  • determines the school districts for the primary schools
  • creates conditions for school attendance in the primary schools as well as conditions for pupils and students catering in all schools and school institutions where the municipality is the founder
  • secures the agenda of education coupons
  • works out statistics on education and upbringing in schools and school institutions within the town
  • cooperates with the municipal school board, school boards, State School Inspection, County School Office
  • secures finance from the City’s budget for all kinds of schools
  • intermediates contacts among primary schools, secondary schools and twin towns from abroad
  • organises competitions
  • maintains the records about the pupils and students belonging to compulsory education age groups adn whose permanent residency is within the town borders; it also maintains records about the school records on this subject
  • negotiates with the school board and school or school institution director the development concept , the report on results of the education and upbringing activities as well as conditions in the school or the school institution
  • maintains the central record on complains or petitions as well as the accepted measures by the schools and school institutions; it works out the documentation needed for taking decision in the above mentioned area
  • secures free access to information according to the statue 211/2000 about the access to information; it works out data to secure information for state organs
  • in cooperation with the school directors, minor’s legal representatives and other concerned parties, secures and works out data for decision making on the first level state administration in the matters of endangering the minor’s education and upbringing and neglecting the care of compulsory school attendance
